When fatty acids and dietary calcium are not well absorbed, they clump together to from calcium soaps, pass through the intestines, and are lost in the stool. Calcium soaps makes stools harder, which leads to constipation and colic – conditions that are as distressing for the parents as they are for the infant.

Babies fed with Betapol™ have markedly lower concentrations of fecal calcium than those given traditional formulas, and a stool frequency and consistency more similar to that seen in infants that are breast-fed. That means happier – as well as healthier – babies!
